Aluminium Stair Tower for Semi-submersible Floatel Superior

Description

A 10m high stairway tower designed and built for the Floatel Superior – a newly built DP 3 semi-submersible accommodation and construction support vessel. The vessel is built to meet the most stringent rules and regulations for worldwide operation including the North Sea/NCS. The aluminium stair tower is supported by an all-aluminium support frame which is 10m high. The entire stair tower is a main access from gangway down to main deck. This especially significant as it is one of the main escape routes for any emergency escape and fire drill. The structure contains stairs, walkway, landing platform with aluminium cladding on the surrounding walls of the stairway. The total weight of the stairway tower is under 10MT. Completed in Oct 2009.
