Helix Q5000

Description

On 27 February 2015, Helix held the naming ceremony for their semisubmersible vessel – Q5000 in Jurong Shipyard Singapore.

The aluminium helideck package consisted of engineering design, fabrication and assembly for an octagonal shape 22.2m XE Enhanced Safety helideck, suitable for landing Sikorsky S61N and S92A helicopters. The helideck incorporates a 3.5m high aluminium support truss and also fitted with our foam Deck Integrated Fire Fighting System (foam DIFFS). Stainless steel perimeter gutters were used instead of aluminium to comply with USCG requirements. The overall structural of helideck is designed according to both UKCAA Cap 437 7th edition and USCG.

Last year October, Howard Allson Ltd completed the assembly of helideck in Jurong Shipyard Singapore.
